Officers are investigating after reports of shots fired inside the Duwamish greenbelt overnight.
Witnesses began calling 911 at 10:30 PM Thursday night to report gunfire in the greenbelt along the 1500 block of Airport Way S. Arriving officers located two witnesses who said the saw three men firing guns near a homeless encampment in the area and pointed officers towards the area.
Officers scoured the area with the assistance of King County’s helicopter, Guardian One, and were able to locate shell casings, but didn’t find any victims, property damage or suspects. Officers collected the evidence and forwarded it to the crime lab for further investigation.
