A trio of teen robbers were arrested Sunday after they held a man up for his high-tops in a Columbia City parking lot.
The 21-year-old victim had met the suspects in the 3800 block of Rainier Avenue South just before 12:45 PM to sell a pair of red and white Air Jordans, size 12 1/2.
The victim had just handed the shoes to one of the suspects–who were all sitting inside a car in the lot–when the trio started to drive away. When the victim grabbed onto the side of the car, one of the suspects began punching him in the head, while another drew a handgun and pointed it at the victim.
The suspects sped off, but were spotted a short time later by Officer Jason Suarez. Police stopped the suspects, took all three teens into custody, and recovered the victims’ stolen shoes and a loaded handgun with an extended magazine.
Officers returned the shoes to the victim and booked all three suspects–ages 17, 18 and 19–for the robbery.
