Police seized a handgun and large quantity of heroin from a teenager Monday night after officers spotted him dealing on a downtown street.
West Precinct Bike officers Richard Bonesteel and Matt Newsome were patrolling near 4th Avenue and Olive Way when they saw two people approach and hand cash to the 17-year-old suspect. The teen then handed over small bags of suspected heroin.
Officers arrested the teen, who told police he was carrying a handgun in the pocket of his basketball shorts. Police also found 30 baggies of suspected heroin, totaling 41 grams, and more than $1,700 cash on the teen.
Police booked the teen into the King County Youth Service Center for narcotics possession and unlawful possession of a firearm.
