A cyclist was seriously injured Friday in a collision with a motorist in South Seattle.
Police and medics were called to the 3600 block of South Graham Street shortly after 3 PM after the cyclist, a man believed to be in his 30s, was struck as he crossed into the path of an oncoming SUV.
The cyclist sustained a significant head injury and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in life-threatening condition. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver stopped at the scene and is being interviewed and evaluated by police. SPD traffic collision detectives are investigating the incident.
