Police are investigating after a 49-year-old man was shot Wednesday evening in SODO.
Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of 4 Avenue South at 8:45 pm after receiving reports of a man shot. Officers arrived quickly and found the victim lying in a grassy area. He had sustained two gunshot wounds to the leg.
Seattle Fire Department medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses from an encampment in the area gave differing accounts of what had led up to the shooting. Officers later responded to the hospital and interviewed the victim who said that a man wearing a mask had shot him. The victim refused to provide any further details of the assault.
