Police arrested a felon and recovered a handgun from an SUV after officers were called to a West Seattle park last week.
Around 12:30 on March 8th, Seattle police received a report of four people flashing guns inside a blue Chevrolet Tahoe at Hamilton Viewpoint Park, in the 1100 block of California Avenue Southwest.
Officers contacted the 23-year-old driver and three others at the park and spotted a gun under the driver’s seat. Police arrested the driver, who is a convicted felon and unable to legally possess guns, and later served a warrant on the vehicle to recover the gun. Police are also investigating a possible connection between the incident and gun violence in the South Park neighborhood.
Officers identified and released the three other passengers in the vehicle and booked the driver into the King County Jail for unlawful possession of a firearm.
