Officers arrested a felon with a firearm Thursday night after breaking up a fight in downtown Seattle.
Officers were patrolling in the area of 3 Ave and Pine Street Thursday night at 11 pm, watching crowds of people waiting to catch buses in the area. Police saw one man repeatedly punch another man in the crowd as others around them began to fight.
Police quickly broke up the brawl, leading several people involved in the incident to flee north on 3rd Avenue. Officers chased down the man who appeared to start the initial fight and took him into custody without incident.
The 19-year-old suspect admitted to having a firearm, which officers seized. Police then discovered the man is also a convicted felon, prohibited from possessing guns.
Officers later booked the suspect into King County Jail for firearms charges.
