Officers arrested a man and recovered semi automatic rifle following reports of shots fired in the Dunlap neighborhood overnight.
Officers responded to the 9000 block of Seward Park Avenue South at 11:30 p.m. when witnesses began calling 911 to report shots fired in an apartment complex parking lot. Officers arrived and spotted a car leaving the area that was reported to be a part of the shooting. Officers stopped the car and arrested the 23-year-old driver. Witnesses confirmed the man officers arrested had been firing a gun in the parking lot moments earlier.
Officers searched the area and found a semi-automatic rifle stashed in the backseat of a car and damage to multiple cars parked nearby.
Officers booked the man into King County Jail for a felony warrant, unlawful discharge of a firearm and felony property damage.
