Officers arrested a man after he attempted to lure a girl into a vehicle Friday morning.
A 16-year-old girl reported to her principal Friday morning, that while on her way to school she was approached by a man in a burgundy car in the 800 block of South Cloverdale Street. The man driving the car attempted to talk the girl into his vehicle, but she refused and took a picture of the suspect. The man then drove away and she continued on to school. The principal notified police and a report was taken.
Officer Brian Hunt and Student Officer Berat Hacibektasoglu were following up on the investigation at 7 p.m Friday in an effort to identify the man in the photos taken by the victim. The officers were able to identify the man and locate his Burien address after extensive research. The officers, with the help of the King County Sheriff’s Office, found and arrested the suspect at 10:30 p.m. at his Burien residence.
Officers impounded the suspect’s vehicle for further investigation and booked the man into King County Jail for investigation of luring and stalking.
