60-Year-Old Man Injured After Being Struck By Driver on Beacon Hill

A pedestrian was critically injured Thursday morning when he was struck by a driver on Beacon Hill

On July 13th, at about 9:45 am, police and fire responded to reports of a collision at that location.  First responders arrived and located a 60-year-old male with life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian was crossing 15th Avenue South in a marked crosswalk when a 79-year-old male driver in a Toyota Camry, travelling northbound on 15th, struck the pedestrian.   Seattle Fire Department medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Police evaluated the driver at the scene and found no signs of impairment.

Both directions of 15th Avenue South were shut down while the investigation was conducted, but the road has since been reopened.

Traffic Collision detectives are investigating the case.
