Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) detectives are investigating the cause of an early morning, single motorcycle collision that left the adult male rider deceased at the scene.
At approximately 6:20 Saturday morning officers were dispatched to a motorcycle collision scene at South Columbian Way and South Alaska Street. It appears that the motorcycle was travelling eastbound on S. Columbian Way approaching S. Alaska when it struck a curb. The adult male rider of the motorcycle separated from the motorcycle and collided with a utility pole. It does not appear at this time that any other vehicles were involved.
Seattle Fire also responded but the victim was declared deceased at the scene. The streets were closed for the investigation but have since reopened. This remains an active and on-going TCIS investigation.
