Police arrested four burglars Sunday evening after they surprised a family in their Beacon Hill home.
A family called 911 around 6:15 PM and said several men had broken into their house in the 9000 block 36th Avenue South. The men had knocked on the door of the family’s home and demanded to be let in. The suspects had walked off, but returned five minutes later and burst through a rear door. The family barricaded themselves inside a bedroom and called 911.
Police quickly arrived at the scene, set up a perimeter around the home and ordered the suspects to come outside.
Officers soon spotted two men leaping from a second story window and took them into custody. A K9 team tracked two others to a nearby greenbelt.
Police arrested all arrested four suspects–ages 16, 20, 21 and 24–for burglary and recovered a loaded handgun and $1800 from one of the men.
Police also seized two rented cars, believed to be the suspects’ getaway vehicles, from the scene.
