Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) are conducting the follow up investigation after responding to a train/pedestrian fatality collision this morning.
Just before 8:00 am officers responded to reports of a collision involving an Amtrak train and a pedestrian on the tracks at Elliot Avenue West and West Harrison. The train was travelling northbound when it struck the adult male. Both Seattle Police and Seattle Fire responded, but the man was declared deceased at the scene. It is unknown why the man was on the tracks.
Detectives will continue to investigate.
