Last night we kicked off National Police Week at the West Precinct with a Candlelight Vigil to honor fallen officers. As we join law enforcement across the country in paying tribute, I wanted to make sure you were aware of the remaining events taking place locally. A special thank you to our Honor Guard and the Seattle Police Foundation for their assistance in making these events possible:
On Tuesday, May 15th at 11:00 am there will be a Seattle Police Memorial Ceremony at City Hall Plaza on 4th Avenue. The event is open to the public.
On Tuesday night, at 7:00 pm, the Seattle Mariners will honor Seattle Police before their game at Safeco Field. Our Honor Guard will present the colors at the game, and I will have the honor of joining them on the field and throwing out the first pitch.
