A male is in custody following a two car roll- over collision earlier this evening.
At 6:00 pm Southwest Precinct officers responded to a roll-over collision in the 6500 block of Sylvan Way SW. Upon arrival officers were told by witnesses that the driver of one of the vehicles ran from the scene to a wooded area. Officers also found a family of three being attended to by Seattle Fire Department inside the rolled over vehicle. The mother and her two children were transported to Harborview as a precaution. It was concluded that the injuries were minor.
Officers secured the scene and set up containment and requested K-9. The King County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, Guardian One, responded and assisted with the search for the suspect. Officers located an intoxicated subject hiding in the green-belt area. He was taken into custody without incident. A witness positively identified the arrested subject as the person that fled from the scene. The suspect was later processed for DUI and Hit and Run Attended.
The involved vehicles were towed from the scene and the roadway was reopened after about an hour.
