Police seized 100 Xanax pills, recovered a handgun equipped with an extended magazine and arrested two men on Capitol Hill Wednesday evening as part of a narcotics investigation.
Investigators had learned a man advertised on social media that he was selling Xanax pills.
Police contacted the man, who agreed to sell 100 Xanax pills and several grams of cocaine to an undercover officer. He agreed to meet police on Broadway on Capitol Hill Wednesday evening, and took off running when officers moved in to arrest him.
Officers were able to take the man into custody after a brief foot chase, and also contacted several people in a vehicle, which had brought the suspect to the scene.
Investigators received permission to search the vehicle, and found a loaded handgun–which was equipped with a magazine capable of holding 31 rounds–on the floor, near where a 19-year-old man was sitting. Police arrested the 19-year-old man after learning he is a convicted felon, and unable to lawfully possess a firearm.
Both men were booked into the King County Jail.
