Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) are conducting the investigation following a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred Friday evening at N. 110th and Greenwood Avenue North. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center.
At approximately 6:30 pm Friday, a 57-year-old female was driving a Ford F-150 truck northbound on Greenwood Avenue North approaching North 110th. At the same time, a 30-year-old male ran across the street either in or near the marked crosswalk, but against the DO NOT WALK signal. According to witnesses, the pedestrian ran into the side of the moving vehicle and sustained significant injuries. The driver was evaluated at the scene by officers and showed signs of impairment and was processed for driving under the influence. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital by the Seattle Fire Department.
This remains an active and on-going TCIS investigation.
