Suspect Arrested After Robbing Fremont Business, Attempting to Carjack Several Cars

A suspect is in custody after he robbed a business and then attempted to carjack several motorists this afternoon in Fremont.

On December 8th, at approximately 2:40 pm, an adult male robbed a store in the 4400 block of Fremont Avenue North.  The suspect then fled. During his escape, the suspect attempted to carjack three or four motorists from their vehicles and attempted to break into a building.

Approximately fifteen minutes had elapsed before officers arrested the suspect in the act of attempting a carjacking at N. 39th and Bridge Way North.  The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.  Several witnesses positively identified the man as the person who had robbed them or attempted to steal their car.  There were no reported injuries.

The suspect was transported downtown where he was interviewed by robbery detectives.  Following the interview, the suspect was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of robbery (multiple counts) and attempt burglary.

This remains an active and on-going investigation.
