Police are investigating the suspicious circumstances that led to property damage and an injury last night at South Nevada Street and East Marginal Way South.
On Tuesday, at approximately 7:45 pm, officers responded to an injury call at that location. Arriving officers located three motorists who all reported they had been driving south on the ramp from SR 99 southbound to East Marginal Way South. All of the motorists reported that their windshields were struck and broken by large pieces of concrete. Fortunately, all of the drivers were able to safely pull their vehicles over and stop. One of the drivers reported being struck in her face with glass and later went to the hospital for medical treatment.
Officers searched the SR 99 in both directions between South Nevada Street and South Dearborn, but nothing was located. Officers did find similar size pieces of concrete located near a building on Port of Seattle property. The concrete pieces were collected and removed from the area. Port of Seattle Police were also notified and assisted with canvassing the area. Officers did not locate any suspects in the area.
Two of the vehicles were towed from the scene. Anyone with any information on this incident is urged to contact the Seattle Police Department.
