Detectives Investigating Tuesday Night Shooting on Capitol Hill

Gang Unit detectives are investigating after a man was shot in the leg Tuesday evening in a Capitol Hill alley.

Witnesses began calling 911 at 8 p.m. to report shots fired in an alley of the 100 block of Melrose Avenue East.

Officers arrived and found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the calf. Seattle Fire Department medics took the man to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Witnesses described the shooter as a black male in his 20’s wearing a black sweatshirt and grey sweat pants. They said the suspect climbed into a waiting silver Toyota Corolla and fled the scene.
