Police arrested a 48-year-old man late Monday morning in the Greenlake neighborhood after a number of motorists reported a man standing in traffic, waving a knife at passing cars.
Officers responded to the 6800 block of Aurora Avenue North at 11:45 a.m. for at least 16 reports of a man in the roadway swinging a knife at passing vehicles.
As police arrived they spotted the man throwing a knife into some nearby bushes. The officers briefly struggled with the man before taking him into custody. Officers found knife a four-inch blade in some nearby bushes and took it into evidence.
Officers booked the man into King County jail for unlawful use of a weapon.
