Detectives Seek Public’s Assistance on Downtown Assault

Detectives are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed an assault that occurred on Thursday, April 18th, at around 12:30 am in the 1400 block of 1st Avenue.

On that date, the 48-year-old male victim was assaulted in front of the Blarney Stone Pub at 1st Avenue and Pike Street. According to witnesses, a group of as many as four males assaulted the victim in the street in front of the bar. The victim sustained serious injuries and has remained unconscious at Harborview Medical Center since the incident.

Earlier that night, a music event took place at the Showbox Theater two doors north of the bar and had just concluded when the assault occurred. Detectives would like to speak with any patron that attended the show and may have witnessed the assault.
