| On May 17, just before midnight, an alert passerby notified East Precinct officers they had just observed a man in a parking lot in the 1400 block of E Pike, sitting in the drivers seat of a car, holding a handgun. East Precinct patrol and Anti-Crime Team officers quickly devised a plan, and moved in to contact the suspect, successfully placing him under arrest. Officers seized one handgun, and observed a second handgun inside the car. Police impounded the car, and will obtain a search warrant to retrieve the second firearm. The suspect is a convicted felon and was booked into King County Jail for a firearms violation. |
