Detectives are investigating two separate shootings that left two people injured early Thursday morning.
In the first incident, Officers were dispatched to Othello Park after people called 911 to report a man had just been shot just after 2:30 AM. Officers converged on the area and found the man with a graze wound to the head. Officers provided first aid until Seattle Fire Department Medics arrived and took the victim to Harborview Medical Center (HMC).
Witnesses told officers that the man had been in an argument with someone just prior to the shooting. Gang Unit Detectives are now working to develop a suspect description.
In the second and unrelated incident, an 18-year-old woman was brought to Harborview Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the arm.
Witnesses said they had been driving in the area of Rainier Avenue South and South Genesee Street at 12:30 AM when they heard gunshots and the passenger was struck. They then drove the victim to HMC where doctors treated the victim for non-life-threatening injuries.
Additional witnesses told officers that they saw a red vehicle flee the area just after the shooting occurred but were unable to provide a suspect description.
Detectives are asking anyone with information in these cases to please call the tip line at 206-233-5000.
