Officers are investigating after a homeowner shot and injured a burglar in the 600 block of Riverside Drive early Thursday morning.
A homeowner called 911 just after midnight Thursday morning to report she had just shot an armed man who was attempting to break into her South Park home. When officers arrived they found a 41-year-old man behind the home with a single gunshot wound to the shoulder and a handgun on the ground near him.
Officers coaxed the woman who was still armed with a rifle down from the roof so they could safely approach the suspect and provide him with medical aid.
Seattle Fire Department medics took the suspect to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
Police investigating located multiple bullet holes in the exterior of the home currently believed to be caused by the burglar.
Officers have interviewed and released the woman pending further investigation.
Officers took two additional men into custody who fled the scene in a vehicle as police arrived. Police are still interviewing the man to determine any possible connection to the burglary. Police have now booked the two men, the 38-year-old driver, and 24-year-old passenger, into King County Jail.
