South Precinct officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 8800 block of Renton Avenue S around 1:50 PM today. Upon arriving, officers discovered that the suspect(s) had fled.
Police and Gang Unit detectives conducted an exhaustive search of the area, but were unable to locate any victims. Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives believe that a victim may have been struck by gunfire.
A check of nearby hospitals revealed that no victims with gunshot injuries have recently been admitted.
