Seattle police made a number of significant seizures of firearms and narcotics around the city this July:
Officers arrested a 36-year-old felon armed with a shotgun after responding to a burglary in West Seattle on July 8th
Police also arrested a man with a handgun and seized methamphetamine and heroin during an arrest at a Queen Anne encampment.
Narcotics detectives seized 13 pounds of meth and 76 grams of heroin from a West Seattle home following an investigation into a South Seattle drug dealer
An emphasis targeting drug dealing in the West Precinct led officers to arrest 12 people for narcotics offenses and warrant violations in Downtown Seattle and Pioneer Square. During the operation, officers also spotted a man attacking pedestrians with a meat cleaver and arrested him.
Narcotics detectives served a warrant at a downtown apartment building on July 16th and seized 1.4 pounds of Methylenedioxyamphetamine (a synthetic drug similar to MDMA), 102 grams of cocaine, 98 amphetamine pills, steroids and over $14,000 cash.
East Precinct officers arrested a felon and recovered a stolen handgun after the 24-year-old man reportedly pointed a gun at a group of people in Cal Anderson Park.
East Precinct officers also arrested two men for brandishing airsoft guns on First Hill.
Gang Unit detectives, South Precinct officers and members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Kent Police, and the Department of Corrections tracked down a wanted 19-year-old man and recovered a handgun with an extended magazine.
And finally, police recovered 32 grams of heroin and a handgun after arresting a 29-year-old suspected dealer in downtown Seattle.
