Gang Unit detectives are conducting the investigation following a shooting that occurred Monday evening in the Central District. An adult male was struck by gunfire and is recovering at Harborview Medical Center.
East Precinct patrol officers responded to a reported shooting at 29th Avenue East and East Alder Street Monday at approximately 6:30 pm. Officers located the male victim, who stated he had been struck once in the abdomen. Seattle Fire responded and provided treatment at the scene, and then transported the victim to the hospital.
Witnesses stated that they believe the victim was shot by individuals inside a passing vehicle, described as a light-colored car. Following the shooting, the suspect vehicle left the area.
Officers conducted an area search but did not locate the vehicle or any suspects. Officers did recover evidence from the scene. Gang detectives responded and will handle the follow up investigation.
