Detectives Investigating Wednesday Night Rainier Valley Shooting

Detectives are investigating after a man was shot outside a Rainier Valley business Wednesday evening.

Just after 9 PM officers were dispatched to the intersection of Rainier Avenue South and South Holden Street to investigate a shooting.

When police arrived they found the victim being treated by Seattle Fire Department Medics for life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was able to tell officers that two men approached him as he stood outside a nearby business and shot him. He said the two suspects then entered a white Dodge Charger and fled the area.

Medics eventually took the man to Harborview Medical Center where he is currently receiving treatment.

The Gang Unit is now conducting interviews and collecting evidence. This remains an active scene and details may change as the investigation continues.
