Police arrested a wanted felon and recovered credit cards and IDs from a stolen SUV on Aurora Avenue early Monday.
Just before 6 AM, patrol officers spotted an unoccupied Subaru Tribeca running in the parking lot of a motel in the 2400 block of Aurora Avenue North. Police soon found the vehicle and the license plates were both reported stolen and spotted a man walking away from the vehicle.
When officers tried to contact him he took off running, dropping a boxcutter to the ground as he fled.
Police eventually caught up to the 38-year-old man, took him into custody, found he was carrying the key for the stolen vehicle, and discovered he was wanted on a Department of Corrections felony warrant.
Officers searched the stolen SUV and found five backpacks full of clothes, a set of golf clubs, and ID cards, credit cards and mail belonging to at least five people.
Police booked the 38-year-old man into the King County Jail for his warrant.
