A 40-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after the occupants of a Queen Anne home called 911 to report a burglary.
At approximately 8:30 pm, the victim and her children were inside their home in the 2100 block of 5th Avenue West when they heard a noise at their downstairs door. The homeowner looked outside and saw a male leaving the house from the back yard and immediately called 911.
West Precinct officers responded and searched the area, locating the suspect several blocks away. The victim positively identified the suspect as the man she saw leaving her home and he was placed under arrest. During a search of the suspect, officers located checkbooks belonging to the victim that were taken from inside the home.
The suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for investigation of burglary. Detectives will handle the follow up investigation.
