A team of Seattle Police officers, friends and family participated last Saturday in the American Lung Association’s Reach the Beach/Cycle for Air and raised over $22,000 in the process!
A team comprised of SPD employees, friends and family rode in a one-day cycling event from Lacey to Westport, Washington (100 miles!) on Saturday. They battled rainy conditions in the morning before finally finishing at the beach in Westport.
The team was honoring a beloved officer who succumbed to lung cancer last summer and supporting his long time patrol partner who was recently diagnosed with the same disease.
The team joined other cyclists and the Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health.
Congratulations to the team for raising a significant amount of money for research and for raising awareness and support for co-workers!
