Officers arrested a 33-year-old female after she stole a box truck that was left unattended warming up early this morning in the Rainier Beach neighborhood.
At approximately 5:45 am the victim’s box truck was warming up in his driveway in the 8300 block of 39th Avenue South. The victim was inside the house when an unknown female drove off in the truck.
Officers responded and began an area search. Officers located the victim’s vehicle near Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Henderson Street. The vehicle was stopped in the 4300 block of South Henderson and the female driver was taken into custody.
The female suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for auto theft. Detectives from the Major Crimes Task Force will handle the follow up investigation.
