Detectives are investigating after a woman was killed after being struck by a tow truck being driven by a 28-year-old man in the 9800 block of Aurora Avenue North Monday evening.
Witnesses reported that a tow truck was traveling south along Aurora Avenue North. The driver of that truck was passing a vehicle that stopped for a person in the roadway. Witnesses aid said the woman in the roadway stepped out from behind the stopped vehicle and was then struck by the tow truck.
Seattle Fire Department Medics attempted first aid on the woman, but she was declared dead a the scene.
Officers spoke to the driver of the truck who was cooperating with investigators and he showed no signs of impairment. Traffic collision detectives have now taken over the investigation.
