Police Seize Two Stolen Rifles After Arresting Burglar at Construction Site

Police arrested a 31-year-old man and recovered two stolen rifles and two stolen vehicles early Tuesday after catching the man burglarizing a construction site near Fremont.

On Tuesday morning, just after midnight, police found the 31-year-old suspect burglarizing a construction site in the 100 block of North 40th Street. Officers arrested him after he crashed into a police vehicle and led them on a brief foot pursuit.

The truck the suspect had used in the burglary was reported stolen, and police were also able to link the man to another recent theft of an SUV, which they recovered.

At the time of his arrest, the man was carrying eight grams of heroin and another eight grams of methamphetamine. Police recovered two stolen rifles from his truck and believe he may have been attempting to sell them.

Officers booked the man into the King County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, burglary, narcotics possession, and assault.
