Effective Immediately: Police Precincts and Headquarters Closed to Public

As a proactive measure to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Seattle Police Department is suspending all police headquarters front counter services and closing our precinct facilities to the public. Re-opening dates have not yet been determined.

Front counter services suspended: 

What this means: this includes in-person requests for police reports and fingerprinting services. 

During this time, you can request police reports and collision reports at:

  • Fax (206) 684-5240
  • Mail – SPD Public Request Unit, 610 5th Ave. PO Box 34986, Seattle WA 98124

You can request a clearance letter by mail at: 

  • SPD Public Request Unit, 610 5th Ave. PO Box 34986, Seattle WA 98124. 
  • Please be sure to enclose a check payable to City of Seattle and the address where you would like the letters mailed.
  • NOTE: Clearance letters require this form and a copy of a government issued photo ID. 

Precinct facilities are closed: 

What this means:  this includes precinct lobbies and community rooms. 

Please call 9-1-1 to report an emergency, or (206) 625-5011 to report a non-emergency.
