The Seattle Police Department’s Force Investigations Team (FIT) is conducting an independent investigation into an officer-involved shooting involving two King County Sheriff’s detectives that occurred near Cumberland, Washington in November 2019.
To date, the FIT has conducted several witness interviews related to the ongoing investigation. Numerous items of evidentiary value have been collected and submitted for analysis by independent forensic laboratories. The lab has completed the examination of the evidence, they are working on the report which must be reviewed by independent experts. The results of the analysis are expected to be provided to FIT by the end of April 2020.
When the results are received, the case will be reviewed and finalized before being submitted to the King County Prosecutors Office.
