Officers Arrest Suspect for Downtown Burglary

West Precinct officers arrested a suspect, and identified and requested charges on her accomplice, early yesterday morning after responding to reports of a burglary at a closed business.

On Thursday, at approximately 4:30 am, officers responded to a reported burglary at a cultural center in the 1900 block of Dexter Avenue. Officers searched the building and did not locate any suspects, but there was evidence that the suspects might return. Officers were able to work with building staff and review surveillance footage to identify the suspects.

About an hour later, officers located one of the suspects in the area and detained her. The suspect had a number of building keys in her possession. She was arrested and transported to the West Precinct.

West Precinct burglary detectives interviewed the suspect and were able to get the name and description of her accomplice in the burglary.

The 22-year-old female suspect was arrested and booked into the King County Jail for burglary. Police are attempting to locate her accomplice and have requested charges against the second suspect.
