Officers Use CPR and AED to Save a Man’s Life

A man is recovering at the hospital after officers had to perform CPR and use an AED to save his life.

Officers responded to the 2700 block of Westlake Avenue North at 1:20 pm for a report of an unresponsive man laying on the deck of his boat. Officers from the West Precinct arrived and immediately began CPR. A Harbor unit arrived shortly after and applied an AED to the man. The AED advised the man needed a shock and they continued CPR.

Seattle Fire Department Medics arrived moments later and transported the man to Sweedish Hospital.

The Harbor officers followed up on the man’s condition at the hospital and discovered that he was now awake and talking.
