Police Arrest Man Attempting to Burglarize North Seattle Home

Officers arrested a man after he was caught trying to break into a home in the Meridian neighborhood early Sunday morning.

Officers from the North Precinct were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress in the 2000 block Northeast 52nd Steet at 1am Sunday.

When police arrived they found a 37-year-old man hiding near a basement window with tools stashed nearby. Officers took the man into custody without further incident.

Officers spoke with the victim who said that she had been the victim of a burglary in March but failed to report the incident because the suspect only stole some of her undergarments.

Officers booked the man, who is also a registered sex offender, into King County Jail for investigation of burglary.
