Update 7/15/20:
The victim in this case died from the injury he sustained Sunday night. The suspect was re-booked into the King County Jail for investigation of murder. Detectives continue to investigate a shooting that occurred Sunday evening in the University District. The victim is being treated at Harborview Medical Center with a life-threatening gunshot wound, and the suspect is in custody.
On July 12th, at about 8:20 PM, officers responded to a reported shooting in the 4700 block of 17th Avenue NE. Officers arrived and contacted the 43-year-old male suspect, who stated that he had just shot a man who attempted to attack him in a parking lot. Officers provided first aid to the unresponsive 35-year-old male victim until Seattle Fire arrived and took over care. The victim was transported by medics to the hospital.
The suspect was arrested and interviewed by detectives. He was later booked into the King County Jail for investigation of assault. This remains an active and on-going investigation.
