SPD Violent Crimes detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying several persons of interest in a shooting on June 20th at 11th Avenue and East Pike Street.
Around 2:46 AM on June 20th, police received reports of gunfire in the area of the CHOP. A 911 call was received indicating a shooting victim was down near 11th Avenue and East Pike Street. The victim, a 33-year-old man, survived the shooting and later made several statements online and to a media outlet, indicating he was attacked and shot following a dispute with a group of people outside the CHOP.
SPD Homicide and Bias Crimes Detectives began investigating the incident—including the victim’s public statements—and found that some of his statements did not align with evidence that was gathered in the days following the incident. Police did confirm, however, that the victim was with a group of people just before he was shot. Investigators were able to gather video from the scene and are asking for help identifying the persons of interest in the investigation of the shooting. They may be associated with a Jeep Wrangler.
Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact the Seattle Police Department Violent Crimes tip line at (206)233-5000.
