#2020-234574/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 8-8-2020 at 0116 hours, a group of males contacted a female along Aurora Ave N. The female and one of the three males walked to a nearby location as the other two males stayed nearby in their vehicle. After reaching their destination a single gunshot rang out and the male was struck in the shoulder. The female ran to a nearby sedan which fled the area at a high rate of speed. After the shooting, the male’s friends attempted to put him in their vehicle to transport him to the hospital but couldn’t. 911 was called and the victim was moved to a nearby business while the Seattle Fire Department and SPD responded. 

#2020-234781/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 8-8-20 at 0945 hours, a report came in that a man had assaulted two people. When Officers contacted the suspect, he took a fighting posture and advanced on officers, who quickly placed the suspect into handcuffs. While being searched, the suspect kicked the leg of an Officer, causing pain. The Officer was not injured. The suspect was booked into the jail for three assaults. 

#2020-234731/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 8-8-2020 at 0811 hours, two males entered a Shell Gas Station and selected two cases of beer. They passed all points of sale without paying. The two employees attempted to detain the males, but a third suspect emerged and used her fist to assault one employee.  Another suspect attempted to assault another employee. All three suspects attempted to flee in their vehicle but were detained by responding patrol units. All three suspects were booked into the King County Jail for investigation of robbery. 

#2020-234773/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 8-8-20 at 0926 hours units responded to a report of an occupied parked vehicle, blocking the sidewalk near 18 Av. S./S. Massachusetts for the past 72 hrs. Uniformed officers arrived on scene and observed the occupied vehicle parked across the sidewalk and parking strip area. Radio verified the vehicle was a reported stolen vehicle. Officers then observed the man in the vehicle make furtive movements to the floorboard, at which time they took cover while giving orders to the driver, who ignored officer commands. The suspect then started the vehicle, put it in reverse, and struck a tree and fence attempting to flee. Unable to escape he then drove forward towards officers, striking the first patrol vehicle and parked civilian vehicle. The suspect then struck the third vehicle and continued forward striking the second patrol vehicle and another parked vehicle as he drove between the two vehicles, striking both of them, causing body damage to all vehicles. The suspect vehicle was then directed towards officers who were on foot. The suspect vehicle then turned away from the officers, back into the roadway at which time his engine failed. The suspect then exited the vehicle and attempted to run, despite officers’ orders telling him not to run. The suspect was then chased and taken to the ground. The stolen vehicle was recovered. The suspect was also in possession of narcotics. 

#2020-234861/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 8-8-2020 at 1155 hours, a male armed with a handgun robbed two individuals while they were on the property of Nathan Hale High School. The suspect and victims had previously agreed over social media to meet there to sell several expensive designer brand items. During the transaction, the suspect pulled a handgun and robbed the victims of a bag, a wallet and a hat. The suspect fled the scene and was not located.  

#2020-235148/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 8-8-2020 at 1948 hours, a female was out for a walk with her friend when she was approached from behind by the suspect. The suspect knocked her to the ground and ripped her necklace from around her neck. The suspect fled on foot. The victim was not injured. 

#2020-253163/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 8-8-2020 at 2012 hours, patrol responded to the 5400 BLK of Airport WY South in response to a brush fire. Upon arrival, officers discovered flames covering approximately a quarter acre of brush just East of the BNSF railway. The Seattle Fire Department accessed the area and extinguished the blaze. Investigation revealed that the fire was intentionally started in the brush, and consequently destroyed a number of tents nearby. No injuries were discovered or reported.  A suspect was taken into custody without incident, but due to COVID-19 protocols was declined for booking by King County Jail.  

#2020-253212/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 8-8-2020 at 2150 hours, responded to the 2000 BLK of Airport WY South in response to a report of an in-progress burglary. Upon arrival, a suspect was seen leaving the area holding a box full of car keys and attempted to flee as officers approached. The suspect was detained a short distance away. Investigation revealed that the arrestee had prowled a vehicle and also broke into a nearby car dealership, stealing a box of over 100 keys sets/fobs to vehicles on the lot. When apprehended, the keys and other items were recovered. The arrestee was booked into the King County Jail.
