#2020-268846/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 9-16-2020 at 1526 hours, South Precinct officers responded to a park in the 10100 blk of Rainier AV S to reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located one parked vehicle in the area that had received damage. The scene was processed and evidence was collected. No suspect/victims were located. A white Toyota Camry driven by unknown suspects was involved.
#2020-296040/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 9-16-2020 at 2002 hours, officers initially responded to an assist fire call at Cal Anderson Park, which evolved into a Homicide investigation. A possible suspect ran from officers and barricaded himself in the Cal Anderson Park pump house. Type 2 force was used during the attempted apprehension of the suspect. Resources from multiple precincts were requested and the pump house was contained. SWAT, HNT, ACT, K9, Homicide, CSI, and media responded. Attempts to communicate by HNT with the suspect were unsuccessful. When SWAT made entry into the pump house to arrest the suspect, he was located inside of a ten-foot drum containing a hazardous substance. The suspect was unresponsive and later determined to be deceased. A FIT investigation ensued.
#2020-269099/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 9/16/2020 at 2153 hours, Seattle Fire and West Patrol personnel responded to a large 2 story shed that was on fire in the parking lot of 1310 W Dravus St. A male later identified as the person who started the fire was located and arrested by patrol a couple of blocks away from the scene. The suspect refused to identify himself and refused to answer any questions. Arson Bomb Squad will conduct the follow-up.
