South Precinct officers responded to reports of a shooting in the Georgetown Industrial neighborhood and found the victim in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center by Seattle Fire medics with a non-life threatening injury.
Just before 5:00 PM, officers responded to the 5300 block of 4th Avenue South for a report of a shooting. Officers located the victim and provided first aid until the fire department took over treatment of the victim. Officers were able to locate the shooting scene approximately half a block away.
Officers interviewed witnesses and the victim and it appears that the victim was in an argument with three or four individuals. Witnesses told officers they heard a single shot and then saw the victim and the suspect(s) all run off in different directions.
The victim is being treated at the hospital for the injury to his leg. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect(s).
Detectives will handle the follow up investigation.
