Witnesses called 911 just before 5:30pm Thursday to report shots fired in the 9200 block of Rainier Avenue South.
Police arrived and found a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg. They applied a tourniquet to the limb and provided aid until the Fire Department arrived.
Officers also found multiple vehicles that were damaged as a result of the gunfire.
Detectives with the Gang Unit are working with witnesses to develop a suspect description.
