Officers arrested a man in a stolen car in the Delridge neighborhood and recovered two firearms, ammunition, narcotics and jewelry from the vehicle.
Shortly after 2:30pm on October 25th, Southwest Precinct officers responded to a call about three men stripping a gray sedan in the 1700 block of Southwest Holly Street. When officers arrived they saw two gray Ford sedans, one of which, a Fusion, had no license plates. One of the men quickly entered and started the Fusion. After checking the VIN and discovering the car was stolen, officers took the man into custody. Officers contacted the registered owner of the Fusion, who gave them permission to search his vehicle. Officers then found a loaded revolver, with a scratched-off serial number, in the car’s center console.
Police booked the 23-year-old suspect into the King County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and unlawful possession of a firearm, as the man is a convicted felon and unable to possess guns. Major Crimes Task Force detectives joined the investigation and also recovered a loaded pistol-grip shotgun with a sawed-off barrel and a ski mask from the vehicle. Detectives also found 31 grams of methamphetamine and a plastic baggie full of gold-colored jewelry. This case remains active and detectives continue to investigate.
