#2020-308144/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 10-31-2020 at 1135 hours, officers were dispatched to a 911 trespass call at Cafe Ladro located at 7011 California AV SW. Prior to officers arriving on scene, radio advised the suspect was now in a fist fight with several customers and throwing chairs around the coffee shop. Upon arriving, the suspect was identified by a witness while he was standing on a public sidewalk throwing a large rock toward people nearby and the business. The windows of the front door of Cafe Ladro were already shattered. The suspect was bleeding from his face. Officers made contact with the suspect and were able to take the suspect into custody without incident. The suspect was transported to the King County Jail. Upon arrival the suspect was declined for medical reasons. The suspect was then transported to Harborview Medical Center and Hospital Guard was established while the suspect was treated for his minor injury that he sustained prior to police arrival. The suspect may potentially be charged with Felony Assault, Felony Threats to Kill, Felony Property Damage. Arrested subject has NCIC warnings for violent tendencies and threats to law enforcement.
#2020-308203/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 10-31-2020 at 1258 hours, the King County Sheriff’s Office requested SPD assistance in searching for a stolen vehicle which was mapping to the West Seattle area. Officers responded to the last known location and observed the vehicle driving along city streets. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was detained. KCSO confirmed the stolen status of the vehicle and the driver was taken into custody without incident. Post Miranda, the driver gave differing statements regarding the circumstances of him being in the vehicle but did admit to taking the vehicle when he saw the keys were still in it. The victim later arrived to take possession of the vehicle and identified a briefcase in the rear cargo area, which he stated was not his. Officers later searched the briefcase and located a 22 cal pistol and various documents belonging to the suspect. The items were placed into evidence. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail.
#2020-308501/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 10-31-2020 at 1945 hours, a Subaru Crosstrek was traveling northbound on Rainier Av. S at S Alaska St. The front of the Subaru struck a female pedestrian who was crossing Rainier Av. S eastbound, north of the intersection’s north crosswalk. The 33-year-old pedestrian suffered significant injuries and died soon after arriving at Harborview Medical Center. The Subaru driver did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, however given the serious nature of the collision, a Drug Recognition Expert officer was requested. No on-duty or off-duty DRE officers were available to respond. The Washington State Patrol was also unable to provide a DRE officer to evaluate the driver. A full TCIS scene investigation was conducted.
