Seattle Police Department Investigating King County Sheriff’s Officer-Involved Shooting in Woodinville

The Seattle Police Department’s Force Investigations Team (FIT) is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Woodinville on November 9th, 2020.  The King County Sheriff’s Office contracts with the City of Woodinville to provide police services to that community.

On November 9th, 2020, deputies responded to the report of a possible car prowl. They were provided with a description of the suspect, which included that he appeared to be carrying a rifle case.  Deputies contacted the suspect in the parking lot of an apartment complex.  During the contact shots were fired; both deputies sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The suspect died at the scene.  The deputies were transported to area hospitals where they were treated for their injuries. Both FIT and the department’s CSI unit responded to conduct the investigation.

This is an ongoing investigation that is expected to last several months.  If you are a witness to this incident or have information pertinent to the investigation, please contact the FIT office at 206-684-9292.
