#2020-341370/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 12-11-2020 at 0524 hours, officers were dispatched to a burglary at a store that specializes in used sporting goods. The suspect broke a window valued at $800 to steal used sporting goods valued at approximately $73. Officers located the suspect in the 1300 block of Stewart St. The suspect was taken into custody after a brief struggle involving minimal force. Once handcuffed, the suspect successfully kicked an officer in the shin causing pain but no injury. The suspect was booked into jail.
#2020-341754/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 12-11-2020 at 1530 hours, an officer was checking on Junction Plaza Park in the 4200 block of SW Alaska St because there have been numerous calls referencing fights and other illegal activity in the park. A suspect threw a glass bottle at the officer’s patrol car. The suspect then kicked the side of the patrol car. The officer struggled to place the suspect into custody. The suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Center and then booked into the King County Jail. A type 2 Use Of Force investigation was completed.
#2020-337587/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 12-11-2020 at 1918 hours, the Robbery Unit identified a person of interest in armed robberies that have been occurring in the U-District during the past week. The suspect had multiple felony warrants for crimes of violence and was barred from several shelters in the area. Officers, working with detectives, located the subject in the U-District near an outreach address. The officers attempted to arrest the subject, but a struggled ensued with a “Help the Officer” broadcasted on all frequencies. A Type 2 Use of Force investigation was initiated after he was placed into custody. A Robbery Detective responded to the suspect’s location and received a confession to the last robbery then the suspect was booked into the King County Jail. Several knives were recovered on the suspect incident to arrest.
#2020-341995/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 12-11-2020 at 2008 hours, multiple calls came in that shots were fired in a particular area. Then Metro called saying that one of their drivers saw three suspects run from the area and one was carrying a gun. Officers arrived and contained the area. Metro recanted and said that they heard the shots and saw three people run from the area but saw no gun. No scene, evidence, victims, witnesses, or suspects were located.
#2020-342126/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 12-11-2020 at 2314 hours, officers responded to a robbery early in the shift. The suspects were gone on arrival, and the victim was not cooperative. Later, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for no plates. The vehicle fled. The officer did not pursue. The vehicle turned WB onto a road that was occupied by another patrol car. The vehicle stopped in front of the 2nd patrol car then tried to drive around the patrol car. The officers in the 2nd patrol car tried to block the fleeing vehicle and the vehicles made contact (no injuries). The suspect vehicle was occupied by four people. All occupants were detained (2 males, 2 females). The female driver was arrested for failure to stop and DUI and DWLS. Officers realized that the 2 males matched the description from the robbery. A show up was performed and the males were positively identified. The males were arrested for robbery. The female passenger was a juvenile and was released to her mother.
